TIM RENNER

MOTOR ENTERTAINMENT / CEO

During his inquiries for an undercover story about the music industry in 1986, journalist Tim Renner joined the Polydor label and put his journalistic plans on hold. After various managerial seats at Polygram and later Universal Music, he founded the Motor Music Ltd. label, which developed artists such as Philip Boa, Tocotronic, Absolute Beginner, Rammstein and international artists like Portishead, 2Pac and The Cardigans.  Around 2005, he then changed Motor Music into a service company operating a “Rent-A-Record Company Model” which helps artist become independent by managing their releases. Besides, Tim is now a lecturer at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.
