Joël Heyard has played the drums since the age of 13. After studying drums at de Conservatories of Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg, where he obtained the first prize, he continued his musical education at the Conservatory of Maastricht, where he got a BA in Jazz Drums. Playing in various bands in Luxembourg since a young age enabled him not only to play as an opener of big names such as Bon Jovi or Toto, but also to gain touring experience abroad.

In 2003, Joël launched himself into music production and never looked back ever since. He produced numerous top ten hits, especially with The Gentles and Marilù. Collaborations with big names such as Rick Pope (Jamiroquai) or Jamal Thomas (Maceo Parker) allowed his production company Joël Heyard Productions to become firmly established. Joël is currently running his own production studio ‘mayfex…’ the publishing company JHP and the label G-Minor Records.
