Touring Europe – Who is investing in the artist
Lots of emerging bands and artists are aware of the promotional impact of touring (especially since records aren’t selling anymore) and are focussing on this aspect of their careers. As a matter of fact, the local (venue) promoter is playing the role of an « emerging talent » promotion agent taking risks on his local territories and presenting new and emerging bands in his venue.Initiated during the second edition of the Sonic Visions Conference in 2009, this panel is dealing with the different aspects of touring as an important part in the development of a musician’s career. This year’s edition will discuss the importance of touring from a promoter’s point of view and give bands the possibility to exchange ideas with local and international promoters and to have an exclusive insight view of this part of the business.
