Long bygone are the days in which rebellious youths voiced their outrage through thundering walls of distorted guitar sounds. Rock & Pop has since entered the realm of mainstream culture, popular music education and publicly funded artist support programmes distil techniques and tools to train tomorrow’s popular music acts. But can rock actually be taught and attitude be instilled methodically? Is it skills that have to be trained or talent that has to be nurtured? From instrument practice to live performance, this panel will examine some of today’s most common methods.
