THE STAVES

The background: Taking a cue from youthful folk revivalists like Laura Marling, Mountain Man, and the Pierces, Watford, England’s the Staves blend the wistful cadences of classic British folk with breezy, Laurel Canyon-era Americana. The trio was formed in 2010 around the talents of sisters Emily (vocals), Jessica (vocals/guitar), and Camilla Staveley-Taylor (vocals/ukulele), who made their first recorded appearance as backing vocalists on Tom Jones’ 2010 gospel collection Praise & Blame. The Staves opened for Bon Iver and the Civil Wars during their North American and European arena tours.
The new „Blood I Bled“ EP is the first public outing of new tracks written by The Staves and features a full supporting cast of his Bon Iver band-mates.
Resolutely confident and deeply emotional, there’s a heightened and supremely focused sense of drama and atmosphere in these new songs and recordings.
